Founder Story

How lived experience became a systems-change mission.

The Academic I/O was founded by Nathan Price, an Industrial-Organizational Psychology practitioner, consultant, speaker, and PhD student focused on helping academic systems become healthier and more effective places to work and learn.

Nathan's work began inside academic environments, where he saw both the beauty and the strain of education. He experienced the joy of helping students grow, lead, and find direction, while also witnessing how unclear expectations, harmful cultures, weak accountability, and underdeveloped leadership systems can shape the experience of employees and students.

Those experiences became the foundation for The Academic I/O: a platform built to translate workplace science into academic systems so leaders and practitioners can create environments where people can thrive.
