Why This Work Matters

Representation & Access

HBCUs produce over 20% of Black undergraduate degrees but are underrepresented in I/O Psychology pathways. We're changing that.

By meeting students where they are and building belonging-centered programming, we create sustainable access to a field that needs diverse perspectives.

Community & Impact

This work centers community, collaboration, and systemic change—not just individual access.

Through partnerships with students, alumni, faculty, and I/O professionals, we're building a movement that strengthens both HBCUs and the field of I/O Psychology.

A Partnership for Change

The HBCU Task Force is a collaborative initiative between Blacks in I/O Psychology, Inc. and The Academic I/O, bringing together expertise in diversity, research, and academic leadership to expand I/O Psychology access at HBCUs.
