By completing the Academic I/O Certification, you will:

  • Navigate the complexities of higher education (Higher Ed 101) and K-12 systems with confidence.

  • Grow as a consultant with enhanced project management, client engagement, and strategic solutions.  
  • Evaluate and implement HR systems to align compliance, efficiency, and decision-making with education-sector requirements.

Program Structure and Key Features

Program Options: 

  • Base Certification: $3,000 | 6 months  
  • Base Certification + Hogan Certification: $5,350 | 8 months

The Academic I/O Certification offers a blended learning experience with 22 total sessions (8 "S" core sessions and 14 "A" advanced sessions). Here’s a breakdown of the program modules designed to strengthen your ability to thrive in academia:

Understanding the Role of an I/O in Academia

  • Define your unique strengths and position as an I-O psychologist in higher education.  
  • Learn to map career pathways in academia and identify potential roles (2-Hour S).  

Academic Ecosystems & Evidence-Based Leadership

  • Higher Ed 101 & K-12 101 for a thorough understanding of the educational terrain.  
  • Build competencies for evidence-based academic leadership.  
  • Understanding the Infrastructure for Change Management. 
  • Moving from department (Faculty and Staff) to college (Deans, Provost, and VPs) to university (Board of Regents) 
  • Moving Through Traditions into Transitions Proper intervention development and setting 
  • Resilience model: This Transition within Higher Ed is a stride not a sprint

Advanced Coaching for Academic Leaders (5.5-Hours Total)

  • Coaching Foundations Workshop (2-Hour S).  
  • Individual coaching and leadership development techniques.  
  • Coaching skills to create equitable, supportive cultures within academia.  

Talent Development Through Coaching & Assessment (3.5-Hours Total)

  • Learn to design training programs for leadership buy-in and lasting cultural impact.
  • Transition teams from learning initiatives to continuous implementation cycles.  

Consultant Competencies

  • Expertise mapping, client engagement, and project management skills (1-Hour S).
